Double Lock Standing Seam (DLSS)

What is standing seam ?

The standing seam system is a roof and façade covering system. It allows long strips of profiled VM ZINC® to be assembled by forming double folds on the upstands. The sheets of VM ZINC® are laid on continuous decking and anchored using concealed fixing clips.



Areas of application

Roofs with a pitch from 3° to vertical.
Classes of internal humidity load: 1 to 4.
Both renovations and new buildings, residential or commercial building.

What is VM ZINC PLUS®?
VM ZINC PLUS® is VM ZINC® coated on the underside with a protective layer (Umicore patent).
1. Surface appearances available : QUARTZ-ZINC® PLUS, and ANTHRA-ZINC® PLUS.
2. Allows the use of an incompatible roof deck.
3. VM ZINC PLUS® products can be bent, folded or profiled without any surface change (similar to VM ZINC® products) and thus allow the exact methods of laying.
4. No need to ventilate the underside of VM ZINC PLUS®.



Characteristics of this technique

  • VM ZINC® is installed on a minimum 19 plywood, and a roof underlay and breather membrane.
  • A 40 mm continuous air gap must be left clear beneath the plywood, on all roof pitches.
  • Continuous ventilation openings are made at the top and bottom.


Installation

Stages to install VM Double lock standing seam:

1 Laying the panel on the structure:
Lay the panel on the structure.
The L profile of the preceding panel and the clips that have been fastened to the panel and fixed to the structure are covered by the U of the next panel, avoiding stresses and lateral traction.
2 Installation of clips.
Number of clips for roofing (depends on the climate zone - contact us for further information)
